DARKENING TROOPS USING DARK ESSENCE

OVERVIEW, TERMS AND GUIDELINES

By now you should be training Defensive Troops on a regular basis and sending some of them to the Beacon. It is good practice to always have your training queues at work on troops across all 4 types (Infantry, Cavalry, Occult, Bestiary).

Once you have reached 200K in defensive strength (NOT the number of troops) at the beacon, your DE (Dark Essence) privileges will be turned on. CONGRATULATIONS!

NOTE: It is best to request your DE privileges from the Beacon Captain for fastest results. ALSO there is a Surprise Bonus available for first timers for getting on League Team Speak and being guided thru the DE process.

You should allocate defensive troops to the Beacon so you maintain about a 60% beacon vs 40% castle defense strength ratio. This is a guideline only so please manage your troops wisely leaving enough for WOD's and enough for doing Battle Grounds (BG's), but still continually growing your Beacon defense.

Now that I have DE privileges, what do I do? 

Applying DE to your troops stationed at the beacon will Darken them. This means their defensive strength is increased while also decreasing their daily food consumption.

Defensive strength is the total defensive power of your beacon troops, NOT the troop count of your units there. Also, Legendary Troops, while welcome and encouraged at the Beacon, are never counted in the calculation of your defensive troop strength.

Your daily DE allotment is based on the amount of the defensive troop strength you
have stationed at the beacon...(not counting your Legendary troops). When your beacon defense increases, so will your DE allotment; If your defense falls below 200K, DE privileges will be turned off. Increasing your beacon defense not only benefits the League, it is also a requirement for rank promotions.

> Your daily DE allotment can only be used once a calendar day...if you miss a day, you
do not get to "make it up" on the following day.

> Only darken defensive troops, and DO NOT REMOVE THEM FROM THE BEACON.

We assume all League members will stay within their DE limits and stick to the guidelines as outlined above. DE overuse-age, removing of darkened troops, or darkening offensive troops without Marshall approval (given on a case-by-case basis) will most likely irritate the Beacon Captain and may result in the suspension or loss of DE privileges.

HOW AND HOW MUCH TO DARKEN YOUR TROOPS WITH DE

To use your DE, go to the EMBASSY tab> BEACONS tab> click on BEACON ICON
PICTURE>click on BEACON and you will now be at the Beacon.

Notice the amount of DE available at Beacon, and another tab DARKENING HISTORY
(The DARKENING HISTORY tab is useful to check when you last darkened so you don't accidentally darken more than once per calendar day).

Underneath, there are 2 up and down sliders that enable choosing between troop types as well as multiple horizontal sliders to choose the number of troops you want to darken.

Your beacon troops are grouped by troop type and generally you will want to darken your higher level troops first (found nearer or at bottom of each pane.)

There is a box to the right of each troop icon with a bottle on it. The number in that box is how much Dark Essence it takes to darken 1 TROOP.

Next to that is a box with a 0 (zero) showing. Manually enter the number of troops you want to Darken or use the slider. Keep an eye on the dark essence box (the one with the bottle on it) to make sure you are not exceeding your daily DE allotment. 

If the number in it is now equal to or less than your DE allotment, click the darken box.

If it is higher than your DE allotment, downward adjust the number of troops so they are now equal to or less than your DE allotment.

If you run out of one type of troops and have some DE left to use, repeat process on another troop type being careful to remember that you have already used a portion of your DE allotment already.

DE ALLOTMENTS BASED ON DEFENSIVE TROOP STRENGTH AT BEACON

Below is the chart to use when calculating your daily DE allotment.

200k=200 DE  (200K in def you receive 200 DE per day.)
300k=300 DE
400k=400 DE
500k=500 DE
600k=600 DE
700k=700 DE
800k=800 DE
900k=900 DE

1.0M=1000 DE
2.0M=2000 DE
3.0M=3000 DE  (This is the MAX DE allowed, but Defense has no upper limit)

Please look at your number and round down.  These amounts are thresholds so 256k in defense DOES NOT equal 256 DE, it equals 200 DE.

A good way to determine your defensive troop strength is to use the GARRISON tab, choose the MY radio button, then select the RECALL MY UNITS tab at bottom of page.

>>>>DO NOT hit Return All Units tab<<<< as this will send ALL your troops home.

On the Recall Units screen, choose ALL troops and then manually remove any
Legendary troops from being included. Your defensive troop strength is at bottom of page next to Defense label.

DO NOT hit Recall tab, instead use x at top right of screen to exit backwards.

> Your daily allotment must be used on the same day… if you miss a day, you do not get to "make up" or get double the following day.

> Only darken defensive troops.

> Do not remove darkened troops from the beacon.

> DE over usage, removing darkened troops, or darkening offensive troops may all result in loss of DE privileges.

Enjoy your newly Darkened troops and keep building defense at the Beacon.
